NSF Funding and SU's Commitment
"(This project) reflects SU's proud legacy of leadership in building inclusive environments for creative work."   - Chancellor Nancy Cantor

The ICC is funded by the National Science Foundation’s ADVANCE: Institutional Transformation program. NSF’s goal is to encourage innovative systemic transformation in higher education institutions in ways that will increase the participation of women in STEM. (NSF Award HRD-1008643).

Syracuse University is one of seven universities in 2010 to receive a five-year, $3.4 million grant to ensure that women faculty in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields have a greater presence at the University.

The University underscores its commitment through engaged leadership and a pledge of support during the initial five years and five years beyond to achieve sustainable institutional change. ICC is a keystone of Syracuse University’s commitment to Scholarship in Action.
