Transcripts

Transcripts of courses taken and degrees received at Syracuse University are maintained by the Office of the Registrar in accordance with the policies of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. Official transcripts show the entire record of all coursework, both undergraduate and graduate, matriculated and non-matriculated. Undergraduate and graduate transcript records print separately, but are issued and sent together for students with more than one SU academic career. Coursework is displayed chronologically within each career record, with one GPA calculation for the career.  However, within that distinction the transcript is not degree-specific, i.e., it does not designate courses that apply to multiple specific degree programs at the same level. Such information may only be obtained from the student’s school/college for undergraduate degrees, the academic department for graduate programs, or the College of Law for law degrees.

Access to student records is protected by University policy and federal law. Only students may request copies of their transcripts. To safeguard students’ privacy we cannot accept email or telephone requests.

There is no charge for transcripts.  Transcripts are not released for people with outstanding financial or judicial obligations to Syracuse University.

Electronic delivery of your transcript is now available!

Official Transcripts:

Current Students and Alumni with My Slice access (up to two years from last term attended) may request an official transcript through MySlice > Student Services > Academics > Transcript Request.

Alumni and former students (more than two years since last term attended) may request an official transcript by completing the Transcript Request Form.

Transcripts can be requested to be sent to a recipient by email.  That person will receive an email with a link to our secure transcript server to retrieve your transcript as PDF.  To have transcripts delivered electronically enter the email address in the E-mail box rather than the postal address in the Name and Address fields on the request form.  The number of copies per email address is one.

Requests may also be made in-person at the Office of the Registrar, 106 Steele Hall.

Photo identification is required. Second parties requesting a transcript must provide written authorization from the student and provide identification.

Advising Transcripts:

Recent graduates who need a degree-bearing transcript should confirm that the degree has been posted before sending a request. This can be done through MySlice > My Academics > View my Advising Transcript or through the Office of the Registrar, by sending an email to crecords@syr.edu or calling (315) 443-2422.
