Whitman hosts Vanguard exec Nov. 12

The Whitman School of Management will host a guest lecture by Sean Hagerty, principal of retail marketing and communications for Vanguard, on Thursday, Nov. 12, starting at 4 p.m. in the Lender Auditorium, located on the concourse level of the Whitman School building. The lecture, titled “Vanguard—The Case for Low Costs and Investor Advocacy,” is free and open to the public.

Prior to assuming his current position, Hagerty served in various capacities in Vanguard’s institutional businesses, including management of the client services organization and the participant services group. Before joining Vanguard, Hagerty held positions with PNC Bank and Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Bonaventure University and a master’s degreein communication from Villanova University. He recently completed the advanced management program at the Harvard Business School.

His lecture is part of the Martin and Phyllis Berman Distinguished Lecture Series, which brings prominent business leaders to Whitman to share their expertise and perspectives with the University community and Central New York executives.
