Research by Patrick T. Mather, Milton and Ann Stevenson Professor of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering in the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science, on shape memory polymers with graded temperature responses was reported in Chemistry World magazine.

A Beliefnet blog posting notes that Gustav Niebuhr, associate professor of religion and media in The College of Arts and Sciences and Newhouse School, has been honored with a lifetime achievement award at the 2010 Religion Newswriters Association awards competition.

The Post-Standard briefly noted a recent donation by alumnus Andrew Berlin to the Maxwell School’s Institute for National Security and Counterterrorism (INSCT) for national security research. The gift was made in honor of David Bennett, professor of history in the Maxwell School.

The Central New York Business Journal reported on the announcement of a final round of grants awarded through Enitiative, the Syracuse Campus-Community Entrepreneurship Initiative.
