The Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF) and Startup Weekend are partnering with Google to host the first ever Google for Entrepreneurs Day for Veterans, Service Members and Military Families in San Diego on Aug. 9. Google will host sessions on how to engage new audiences, along with giving lessons on effective online advertising to help veteran business owners and future entrepreneurs gain tactics to make their businesses successful online and in brick-and-mortar stores.
Veterans, service members and military families who have a business, or just a great business idea, are invited to apply to attend the event. Sign up for free by visiting g4eveterans.eventbrite.com.
Startup Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners can determine whether their ideas are viable for a successful business. Developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share their ideas with potential business owners and help build successful products.
The IVMF develops education and employment-focused programs in collaboration with industry, government, NGOs and the veteran community to address the primary economic and public policy concerns of the nation’s servicemen and servicewomen and their families. The institute has a portfolio of veteran and military family entrepreneurship education programs, and will host its national Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities at its home campus, SU, in July.
June 05, 2012 The program, designed in collaboration with the Casting Society of America, was developed for casting students, including key professional components and core courses with fellow Tepper students.
