Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications will host a screening of the film “Black Males/Black Dreams: Climbing to the Mountain Top” on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in SU pay lots.

Produced by Larry Elin, associate professor of television-radio-film in the Newhouse School, and Susan Hynds, professor emeritus in the School of Education, the film explores the obstacles faced by African American males, including low academic achievement, an inner-city culture of hopelessness and poverty and the lack of black male role models in schools and professional life.

For more information, contact Hynds at sdhynds@syr.edu.
