Rapper Lil B is set to headline University Union Concerts’ first Bandersnatch Music Series show of the year on Nov. 9 as part of Orange Central 2011. Opening acts include up-and-coming hip-hop artist Tayyib Ali and a student act to be announced at a later date. The show will be held in the Schine Underground, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. and music starting at 8 p.m.

lilbOne of the most entertaining and dynamic artists to come out of the Bay Area hip-hop scene in recent years, Lil B first gained recognition as a rapper with the Berkeley, California based hip-hop group, the Pack. Lil B acquired a huge following through his extensive use of social media sites like Twitter and MySpace, where he uploaded more than 1,500 of his songs, including the hits, “Wonton Soup” and “I’m God.”

At only 18, Philadelphia-based rapper Tayyib Ali has already shared the stage with indie hip-hop and pop heavyweights such as Shwayze and Sam Adams. Ali’s singles, “Cold World” and “What My Father Told Me,” showcase his versatility and skill as a rapper, and make him one of indie hip-hop’s artists to watch.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Schine Student Center box office. Ticket sales are open to all SU and SUNY-ESF students and staff for $5 at a limit of two tickets per person. A valid college ID will be required to purchase tickets.
