This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Mirror Awards competition honoring excellence in media industry reporting, sponsored by the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. In celebration of this milestone, the school has launched the Mirror Awards Blog.
The Mirror Awards Blog focuses on developments in the media since the establishment of the Mirror Awards in 2006 and what these developments predict for the future. Newhouse School bloggers will also point out recent examples of media industry coverage. Blog entries will be updated (approximately) every two weeks leading up to the awards ceremony, which will be held in New York City in June.
The Mirror Awards honor the reporters, editors and teams of writers who hold a mirror to their own industry for the public’s benefit. The entry deadline was recently extended to Feb. 15 and nominations are being accepted online at mirrorawards.com. Anyone can nominate, and there is no fee to enter.
