Creative writing by Somali Bantu refugee students will be revealed on one of the Connective Corridor buses Monday, Dec. 5, as part of the Corridor’s new In Motion program. The Somali Bantu teenagers responsible for the prose will be surprised to see their work in public for the first time. The group will also be treated to the spoken word poetry of Verbal Blend.
The Connective Corridor bus showcasing the work is scheduled to leave College Place at 5:57 p.m., and then make its loop around the city.
The art students, who attend high schools locally, will be joined by their mentors from International Young Scholars, a program under the guidance of Syeisha Byrd at Hendricks Chapel, and students from Verbal Blend, Syracuse University's spoken word poetry group led by Cedric Bolton from the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
