Syracuse University and Adjuncts United, a labor union affiliated with the New York State United Teachers Union (AU/NYSUT), have reached tentative agreement on a proposed successor collective bargaining agreement covering more than 400 part-time faculty members represented by AU/NYSUT.
The tentative agreement was reached on Aug.18. The parties have been negotiating since late March for a successor to the three-year agreement that expired May 31. The tentative agreement covers an additional three-year term, running through May 31, 2014.
AU/NYSUT will be holding communications meetings with members on Aug.30 and Sept.1, with a ratification vote to follow. The union will be in contact with members to provide further details.
