Whitman School programs recognized in Bloomberg BusinessWeek specialty rankings

Bloomberg BusinessWeek recently released a ranking of specialty undergraduate business programs as a follow up to its March 2010 undergraduate business program ranking, in which the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University ranked No. 47 nationwide.

Bloomberg BusinessWeek asked senior business students from 139 schools to assign letter grades from A to F to their business programs in specialty areas, including quantitative methods, operations management, ethics, sustainability, accounting, financial management, marketing management, business law and corporate strategy. Based on those grades, scores were calculated for each of the ranked schools in each area.

The Whitman School ranked in each category. The specific Whitman rankings in each specialty area are:

  • No. 17 in strategy
  • No. 17 in operations management
  • No. 24 in marketing management
  • No. 36 in accounting
  • No. 38 in quantitative methods
  • No. 48 in sustainability
  • No. 48 in ethics
  • No. 56 in business law
  • No. 56 in financial management

Syracuse University also ranked in the specialty areas of calculus, macroeconomics and microeconomics.
