Syracuse University librarians Bonnie Ryan and John Olson have compiled a resource guide, http://researchguides.library.syr.edu/haitidisaster, related to the recent earthquake in Haiti. The guide provides links to resources on Haiti, the Jan. 12 earthquake and its aftermath, and information on how to help and the SU campus response.
Ryan is working in collaboration with faculty members Paula Johnson, professor of law at Syracuse University College of Law; Arthur Paris and Cecilia Green, both associate professors of sociology in the Maxwell School; and Linda Carty, associate professor of African American studies in The College of Arts and Sciences, to coordinate dissemination of information about the disaster to the campus.
Olson compiled the Haiti Maps and Atlases page, which includes links to information from ReliefWeb, the World Health Organization, WikiProject – Haiti, the Army Geospatial Center, Google Earth, and Geologic Earthquake maps from the U.S. Geological Survey.
The SU resource guide is based on a similar one created by UMass Amherst’s W.E.B. DuBois Library, located at http://guides.library.umass.edu/haiti.
