As part of Syracuse University's participation in NBC Universal's Green Week, the Office of Electronic Media Communications (EMC) developed a special sustainability video spot that aired during the Syracuse vs. Notre Dame football game on Nov. 22. The institutional video highlighted some of the numerous green initiatives and programs that have helped SU become a sustainability leader in higher education. The video will continue to air on Time Warner Cable this winter.
Participating in the 30-second video were Carissa Matthews, a senior public relations major in the Newhouse School and resident advisor, who spoke about conservation efforts in the residence halls; Scot Vanderpool, manager in the Department of Parking and Transit Services, who spoke about how SU offers incentives for using alternative transportation; Lisa Brennan, assistant director of WorkLife and Organizational Development in the Office of Human Resources, who spoke about SU's Flexible Work and Sustainability Initiative; and Steve Lloyd, SU's chief sustainability officer, who spoke about how SU has achieved its overall energy savings.
