The School of Information Studies is looking for individuals from across campus to join in an interdisciplinary discussion of the research and teaching possibilities of using games and gaming. The discussion group is open to faculty and students who are interested in exploring the educational benefits and implications of gaming. The group will convene Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 1-2 p.m. in Room 120 of Hinds Hall.
"The purpose of the group is to share what we are interested in and explore collaborative possibilities surrounding gaming of all types, including console games, computer games and tabletop games," says iSchool associate professor Scott Nicholson, director of the M.S. in library and information science program and the Library Game Lab at SU.
Organizers hope the group's discussions will lead to information on the role that games and gaming are playing at SU and to help identify future cross- disciplinary projects in the area of gaming.
