As part of NBC Universal's Green Week, Syracuse University and the University of Notre Dame will battle it out to see which university can achieve the greatest carbon footprint reduction.
The Fighting Irish and Orange will meet each other on the turf Nov. 22, but beginning immediately and leading up to the game, SU students, faculty, staff, alumni and fans can take NBC Universal's Green Your Routine challenge to see which campus can take the most action in support of the environment. The winning university will receive $10,000 towards making its campus more eco-friendly.
To participate in the carbon rally, visit the Be Orange Think Green team website at http://www.carbonrally.com/teams/558. Carbon Rally is one of a growing number of websites where consumers can track their carbon footprints-the amount of carbon dioxide emissions they produce. Carbon dioxide emissions when released into the atmosphere are a major contributor to global warming.
SU students, faculty, staff, alumni and fans are invited to participate in the Green Your Routine challenge. The more participants who are able to make small, positive actions over the course of the challenge will contribute to SU's carbon reduction tally. To track the competition's progress, visit the Notre Dame Carbon Rally site at http://www.carbonrally.com/teams/557. Results will be broadcast during the Notre Dame/SU game on Nov. 22 on NBC as part of NBC Universal's Green Week.
