Acclaimed African-American cartoonist to lecture at SU

The creator of the well-known "Jumpstart" cartoon, Robb Armstrong, will speak on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 12:15 p.m. in Syracuse University's Shemin Auditorium. "Jumpstart," one of the first comic strips featuring African American characters, premiered in 1989 and is syndicated in 40 newspapers across the country. At the time, Armstrong was the youngest African-American cartoonists to be in syndication.

Armstrong is an alumnus of SU's class of 1985.

Shemin Auditorium is located in Shaffer Art Building. This event is free and open to the public.
