Longtime contributor to The Onion will read satire at Raymond Carver Reading Series

Syracuse University's Raymond Carver Reading Series will continue this semester with a fiction reading by Joe Garden on Sept. 24. The reading starts at 5:45 p.m. in Gifford Auditorium, located in Huntington Beard Crouse Hall, and is free and open to the public.

Garden, a resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., is a longtime contributor to the satirical newspaper, The Onion. He created two of "The Onion's" recurring characters, Jim Anchower and Jackie Harvey.

The Raymond Carver Reading Series is supported by The College of Arts and
Sciences, the Syracuse University Library Associates, Stephen King,
the Dr. Scholl Foundation and The Richard Elman Visiting Writer Fund.
