For only a few dollars each day, Syracuse University employees can soon invest in protection against the costs of long-term care-the kind of ongoing care necessary for those who can no longer perform the ordinary tasks of daily living.

The University offers long-term care insurance as one of its benefit options. Employees can take advantage of group buying power during long-term care insurance open enrollment, scheduled for the month of February. This year's open enrollment features guaranteed issue for employees, meaning no proof of insurability is required. Employees may also purchase coverage for family members.

Open enrollment will be held Feb. 2 - March 12. For further information, contact Myra Johnson at myjohnso@syr.edu or visit http://syracuse.jhancock.com, username: syracuse, password: mybenefit. The University's e-mail news system will be used to notify staff of the time and location for meetings with John Hancock representatives, who will be available for one-on-one consultations Feb. 18-20.
