For those of you who can't make it to New Orleans, come and celebrate Mardi Gras locally with Creole dance musicians Nathan Williams and the Zydeco Cha Chas, who will perform in Syracuse University's Goldstein Auditorium in the Schine Student Center on "Fat Tuesday," Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. SU's Brazilian Music Ensemble, under the direction of Josh and Elisa Dekaney, will open the show.
The concert is sponsored by Pulse, which provides SU undergraduates with opportunities to attend and participate in programs, performances, exhibitions and events both on campus and in the community. Tickets are $3 for SU students with I.D., $5 for SU faculty and staff and $10 for the general public.

Singing tales of joy, heartache, betrayal and hope, Nathan and his no-holds-barred contemporary zydeco band play the stirring Creole dance music popular in south Louisiana dancehalls. Zydeco is the funky, foot-stomping combination of Cajun dance music and African blues that is sure to stir your soul, put a smile on your face and make you shake what your mama gave you.
SU's Pulse was developed nearly 10 years ago as a joint initiative between the College of Visual and Performing Arts and the Division of Student Affairs to influence student culture in positive ways by positioning the arts more prominently as part of the student experience.
Tickets for the Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas performance can be purchased by calling the Schine Box Office at (315) 443-4517.
