RPI professor to speak on African fractals during Jan. 25 lecture at Syracuse University

The Department of African American Studies in Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences and SU's Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) will jointly sponsor a lecture by Ron Eglash of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 in Room 107 of the Hall of Languages.



Eglash, an assistant professor in RPI's Department of Science and Technology Studies, will speak on "African Fractals and the Information Technology Revolution."



Eglash is the author of "African Fractals: Modern Computing and Indigenous Design" (Rutgers University Press, 1999).



The lecture is free and open to the public.
