Parking permit fees for faculty, staff and students who use Syracuse University lots
and garages will remain at the current rate for the 2009-10 fiscal year, according to
SU's Office of Parking and Transit Services.
"This is an institutional decision that seeks to help alleviate any financial hardships
our faculty, staff and students may be facing due to the economic situation," says Al
Sauer, director of parking and transit services.
This new policy does not apply to parking tickets, citations or violations; nor does it
apply to visitor parking or daily cash permit fees.
The 2009-10 parking schedule begins Aug. 1 for faculty and staff permits, and Sept.
1 for student permits.
Faculty, staff and students who hold current parking permits will receive e-mail
notification by June 1 with details on how they can renew their permits online.
Current permits will expire July 31.
