The Student Association has launched a program called "Share the Fare" to assist
students in coordinating rides to their summer destinations. The program will run
until the end of the school year. Sign-ups are available on the Share the Fare board in
the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center.
Any Syracuse University or SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry
student is eligible to participate. The program is open to any student who needs a ride
home or is willing to take students in his or her vehicle.
It is up to the individual student to determine how many individuals he or she is
willing to take; whether gas and/or toll money is required; and when the ride will be
departing.
The Student Association realizes that rides can be hard to obtain, and with the state of
the economy rides can also be expensive. Therefore, a program such as this makes it
easier for students to begin their summer with less stress. SA, of course, encourages all
students to drive responsibly and respectfully.
