The Syracuse University School of Information Studies (iSchool) maintained its No. 1 ranking in information systems in U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Graduate Schools 2009.” The iSchool also upheld its No. 3 ranking overall in library and information science.
The iSchool also ranked fourth in school library media and digital librarianship, and ninth in services for children and youth.
“We believe this recognition is well-deserved, and are thrilled to continue offering the top-ranked program in information systems,” says iSchool Dean Elizabeth D. Liddy. “Our faculty members conduct cutting-edge research and are dedicated teachers who work to ensure that each of our students succeeds. I am proud of the work that we do here in the iSchool, and appreciate the well-deserved recognition generated by these rankings.”
U.S. News ranked 50 master’s degree programs in the United States that are accredited by the American Library Association. These ratings are based solely on the nominations of program deans, program directors and a senior faculty member at each program. For the specialty rankings, they were asked to chose up to 10 programs noted for excellence in each specialty area. Those with the most votes are listed.
