Miranda Shilati, a senior surface pattern design major in the
School of Art and
Design in Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) has
won first place for fabric design in the fifth annual C2C/CITDA Design Competition
sponsored by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC),
the international association for textile professionals.
Shilati's entry, "Let Freedom Reign," was selected from 125 entries representing 38
different institutions. Shilati will be awarded $1,000; a complimentary student
registration for the 2010 AATCC International Conference; and a complimentary
copy of Pantone's Color Passport.
The C2C/CITDA Design Competition was developed by the AATCC's Concept 2
Consumer Interest Group (C2C) and the Computer Integrated Textile Design
Association (CITDA). The theme of this year's competition was "color concepts."
