Experts in the field of real estate will gather April 14 for the second annual real estate
symposium hosted by the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. The
symposium, titled "Real Estate: Reflection and Looking into the Future," begins at 10:45
a.m. in the Lender Auditorium, located on the concourse level of the Whitman School.
The event is free and open to the public. Paid parking is available in the University
Avenue Garage.
At 11 a.m., James Kuhn '70, '72 M.B.A., president and trustee of Newmark Knight Frank,
will interview Michael Fascitelli, president of Vornado Realty Trust, on "How Vornado, a
Leader in the REIT Field, Faces the Challenges Today."
Afternoon panel sessions start at 1 p.m. Edward Pettinella, president and CEO of Home
Properties, will speak on the topic "Apartment Reit Outlook." Hal Fetner '83, president of
Sidney Fetner Associates, will talk about green building development. Tony Conigliaro
'73 M.B.A., COO of Gale International, will discuss international aspects of real estate.
The panel discussions will be moderated by Milena Petrova, assistant professor of finance
in the Whitman School.
The symposium is organized by Petrova and Yildiray Yildirim, associate professor of
finance, and is sponsored by the James D. Kuhn Real Estate Center in the Whitman
School.
