On April 15 and 16, the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University will
host a pair of presentations by Tom Vis, senior risk management officer with the
Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), part of the World Bank. The April 15
lecture will begin at 3:45 p.m. in Room 303 of the Whitman School building. The April 16
lecture will begin at 11 a.m. in Room 104. Both lectures are free and open to the public.
Paid parking is available in the University Avenue Garage.
Vis will speak on private companies doing business in emerging markets and will address
the issue of how to mitigate emerging market country risk at a time of global financial
market meltdown. His visit to Whitman is part of the "Financial Management" and the
"New and Emerging Markets" courses, taught by Pierre Yourougou, visiting associate
professor of finance.
