The Big Event is a day of community service involving more than 400 Syracuse
University students every spring. The Big Event takes place on Saturday, April 18,
beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Panasci Lounge on the second floor of the Hildegarde
and J. Myer Schine Student Center, where a free breakfast will be provided.
Volunteers will be given free t-shirts and transportation to the various sites at which
they will be working.

The day normally ends at around 3:30 p.m. Registration has begun and can be
accessed at this link:

This year marks the fifth annual Big Event and will include 27 separate service
projects at Syracuse nonprofits. Twenty first-year students, called OrangeSeeds, have
been organizing the day's activities since late January. OrangeSeeds is a leadership
empowerment program that cultivates first-year students' community values and
leadership skills. Their training culminates with the planning of The Big Event.
