Undergraduate students Tammy Alton and Kimberly Cook have each received a $2,000 Mildred Eggers Scholarship toward their part-time studies at Syracuse University.
Alton is a student in the College of Human Services and Health Professions. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in social work. Cook is pursuing a degree in education from The College of Arts and Sciences.
The Mildred Eggers Scholarships are awarded by the organization known as Women of the University Community, and are named in honor of the wife of the late Chancellor Melvin A. Eggers. The scholarships are given to part-time students of University College who are working to earn a degree or reach other educational goals at SU. Recipients demonstrate academic ability, leadership qualities and financial need.
