The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) student club in the Whitman
School of Management at Syracuse University will hold its inaugural gala on Friday,
April 3, from 7:30 p.m.-midnight at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel &
Conference Center.
The keynote speaker for the evening will be Josefina Diakite, ambassador of the Republic
of Angola to the United States. The program also features performances by Creations
Dance Troupe and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. Samuel Pierre, the current
Brooklyn South liaison at the U.S. House of Representatives, will give an inspirational
speech. The evening will wrap up with classical ballroom dancing starting at 10:30 p.m.
The gala will be a night for practicing dinner etiquette, mental stimulation and
networking. Since 1969, the National Association of Black Accountants has been the
leader in expanding the influence of minority professionals in the fields of accounting and
finance. Admission to the gala is $10; all SU students, faculty and staff are invited. For
