StoryFest II, a family storytelling event featuring the storytelling talents of Jacquelyn Grace-
Rasheed, Jhadi Grace, Tasneem Grace-Tewogbola, Omanii Abdullah-Grace, David Knittel and
Vanessa Johnson, will take place on April 3 at Corcoran High School. The event is sponsored by the
Ted Grace Reading Grove and the Cultural Resources Council.

Storyfest II commemorates the enormous contributions of Ted Grace to promoting literacy in the
Corcoran community. Grace was a Corcoran graduate, a Syracuse University School of Education
professor, a literacy advocate and an accomplished storyteller. Proceeds from the event will be used
to develop the Ted Grace Reading Grove, a seating area and outdoor amphitheater to be located on
the Corcoran High School campus. The Reading Grove is a collaborative project among the
Corcoran High School PTSO, the Corcoran Alumni Association and SU.

The event opens at 6:30 p.m., and the storytelling will begin at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults
and $5 for students (K-12). Children under the age of five are admitted free of charge, and light
refreshments will be served. Tickets may be purchased at the Cultural Resources Council Office at
411 Montgomery St. (435-2155), in Room 200 Huntington Hall at SU, or through the Ted Grace
Reading Grove Committee (call 383-4018 or email tedgracereadinggrove@gmail.com).
