Out of 100 student teams who applied to compete in the Panasci Business Plan
Competition, the field was originally narrowed to 32 for the annual competition held
in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. After a rigorous
review process, 12 teams have been selected to advance to the semi-finals. The semi-
finals will be held on April 17, and are hosted by the Falcone Center for
Entrepreneurship in the Whitman School.
This year's business plans represent a diverse collection of entrepreneurial ideas from
across the SU and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-
ESF) campuses, including plans for a mobile golf center, an organic fish farm and a
virtual real estate business for campus housing. Each team has been provided with
two mentors, and various workshops will also be available for the teams in
preparation for the semi-finals.
During the semi-finals, the 12 teams will present their business plans to Syracuse-area
business leaders. The teams will be judged on creativity, innovation, feasibility,
comprehensiveness and their oral presentation.
The top four teams will proceed to the finals in the hopes of winning up to $40,000 in
prizes. The finals will be held on April 18 in the Lender Auditorium, located on the
concourse level of the Whitman School building.
