VPA transmedia students to show work in 'Video Now!' at the Everson Museum of Art

The Everson Museum of Art will present 'Video Now! 2009,' a series of experimental video
shorts by students in the Department of Transmedia in Syracuse University's College of
Visual and Performing Arts
, on Thursday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in Hosmer Auditorium at the
museum, 401 Harrison St., Syracuse. The screening, which is part of the museum's
Contemporary Film Series, is free and open to the public. A reception will be held at
intermission.


'Video Now! 2009' is part of an annual celebration of original student work in film.
"This year's collection is fresh and exciting," says Pam McLaughlin, curator of education
and public programs. "The students have done an exceptional job of exhibiting their
creativity."


The Contemporary Film Series screens contemporary, independent film and video, both
feature lengths and experimental shorts that cover a broad range of cinematic styles and
themes.


The Everson is open to the public Tuesday-Friday and Sunday, noon-5 p.m., and Saturday,
10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5 per person. For more
