In light of President Obama's call to action for universities to use their intellectual capital to
reform our schools, cleanse our natural environment, bridge the toxic schisms in our social
environment, and mobilize our talented youth in "Remaking America," Chancellor and President
Nancy Cantor thought it appropriate in her yearly address to reflect on SU's engagement in
these pressing issues in the City of Syracuse.

The Chancellor's address, titled "Remaking America: Universities as Anchor Institutions-the
Syracuse Example," will take place on Thursday, March 19, at 4 p.m. in Hendricks Chapel.

Vice Chancellor and Provost Eric Spina and Chancellor Cantor will also present for the first
time the Chancellor's Leadership Awards during a ceremony before her presentation. The
Chancellor asks all to join in congratulating the faculty leading these comprehensive projects and
in underscoring our campus' role as an important anchor institution in Syracuse.

The Chancellor welcomes everyone from the University and greater Syracuse communities to
attend. Free parking is available in the Irving Garage.
