The board of directors of Rehabilitation Counselors of Central New York (RCACNY)
has chosen two School of Education faculty members to receive awards at the
organization's first Life-Time Achievement Recognition Awards and Rehabilitation
Counselor of the Year event.
James L. Bellini, associate professor of counseling and human services and director of
the rehabilitation counselor program, has been named RCACNY Educator of the
Year 2009.
Steven J. Taylor, co-director of the Center on Human Policy, Law and Disability
Studies (CHPLDS) and Centennial Professor in Disability Studies, has been chosen
for the RCACNY 2009 Advocacy Award.
In announcing the awards, the RCACNY awards committee congratulated and
thanked the recipients "for all they do in their work providing services to people with
disabilities and serving as role models for the rehabilitation counselors and
rehabilitation professionals in the community."
Bellini and Taylor will be presented their awards at a reception scheduled for early
April at the Sheraton Syracuse University Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center.
