The negotiating committees for Syracuse University and International Brotherhood
of Teamsters Union Local 317 have reached tentative agreement on a three-year
labor contract for SU Parking and Transit Services unionized employees.
A ratification vote will be scheduled by Feb. 28 at the Local 317 Union Hall.
A total of 39 bargaining unit members-full-time and regular part-time employees
who are parking lot attendants, parking control officers, data coordinators and office
coordinators-are eligible to vote on the proposed contract, which would run through
Dec. 20, 2011.
SU Parking and Transit Services employees voted to join the Teamsters Union in
September 2007. Contract negotiations began Feb. 15, 2008, and entailed 29
meetings.
