"Bored-it is" and "Nothing-to-Do Flu" are common symptoms of the winter break
blahs. The Community Folk Art Center (CFAC) has announced its findings that a
huge helping of creativity with a mug of imagination can help any kid kick the
winter blahs.
The Community Folk Art Center Winter Break Arts Camp offers creative activities for
children ages 7-13. Students will be engaged in performing arts activities ranging
from theater projects and storytelling to singing, drumming and improvisation.
Visual arts classes will feature drawing, painting, collage and various other crafts.
The camp will run Feb. 16-20 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at CFAC, 805 E. Genesee St.,
Syracuse. It will cost $130 per camper. For an extra fee, an extended day is available
from 8:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m.
The purpose of the Winter Break Arts Camp is to encourage children to creatively
express their personal experiences and ideas, resulting in growth not only in self-
expression and self-awareness, but self-esteem.
