SU's Newhouse School, Hillel to host ABC News' Charles Lustig Nov. 10

Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and
Hillel
will host Charles Lustig, director of foreign news for ABC News, on Monday, Nov.
10. He will speak on "Reporting from the World: International Reporting in the Online
Age" at 7 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium of Newhouse 3.


Lustig's remarks will focus on the international influence of the U.S. election, the role
of international reporting in network news, and the impact of the Internet on
reporting. He will also discuss the challenges and opportunities of international
journalism and provide advice for students who wish to enter the field.


Lustig has served in his current role since 2001, guiding all international news
coverage for ABC, including for "World News Tonight," "Nightline" and "Good
Morning America." He has covered such events as the international reaction to
Sept. 11, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the 2004 Indonesian Tsunami and the
death of Pope John Paul II.


Lustig has won several awards for his work at ABC, including three Emmy Awards,
a Peabody Award and two DuPont Awards.
