Schine Student Center's Atrium welcomed a new addition in April: A new, big-screen plasma television that broadcasts Cable News Network (CNN). The 24-hour news channel, however, will not be the only information broadcast to students, faculty and staff who frequent the building in the future.
The Office of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs is coordinating efforts to distribute content for the big-screen TV. University departments and registered student organizations can submit information for the network to get out the message about programs, lectures, speakers, and other issues of interest on and around campus.
The Division of Student Affairs' requirements for submissions include the following: Submissions must be provided five business days prior to distribution; materials must be provided in approved formats and e-mailed to djlist@syr.edu; videos must be one minute or less in length; display information requires the name and logo of the sponsor to be visible; submissions must include the start date of distribution and the Division of Student Affairs reserves the right to limit distribution to 14 days before the event; audio must be in digital format; submissions must adhere to copyright laws; and multiple submissions for the same event will be rejected.
