The JPMorgan Chase 2008 Fall Speaker Series will continue on Wednesday, Oct. 22, with
Tony Hai, chief technology officer at JPMorgan Chase, who will present "Operational and
Analytic Business Flow and Use of Customer Data" at 3:30 p.m. in the Katzer Collaboratory,
located in Hinds Hall. A reception will precede the seminar, at 3 p.m. The event is open to
the public.

Hai is the chief technology officer for enterprise systems within JPMorgan Chase. In this
capacity, he is responsible for management of core enterprise applications, including
customer information system (CIS), demand deposit application (DDA), output systems
(statements, notices and plastics generation) and enterprise middleware. These applications
support all lines of businesses within the firm, including retail, card services, treasury and
security services, commercial bank, private bank, private client services and investment
bank.

Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase, Hai was the head of development for National City Corp.
In that role, he built credibility and trust with line-of-business executives following a long
period of neglect and mismanagement. The renewed credibility resulted in increased
technology investment successively by 50 percent for 1999-2001. Through implementing
strong project management methods and cultural changes, Hai reduced the average
duration of technology projects by 50 percent, resulting in increased return on investment by
40 percent. Hai also spent eight years in management consulting with Andersen Consulting
and Price Waterhouse.
