Syracuse University's Hendricks Chapel will present "Healing Body, Soul and Spirit"
with Thomas Moore on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. in the chapel.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by Hendricks Chapel
with support from the Alex G. Nason Health and Wellness Lecture Fund. Parking is
available in the Irving Garage.
There is much research on the maladies of the body, but not much is known about
the role of the soul and spirit in physical illness. Much of Moore's work in the past few
years has been about tending soul and spirit in hospitals and clinics.
Moore is the author of "Care of the Soul" (HarperCollins, 1994) and 15 other books
on deepening spirituality and cultivating soul in every aspect of life. He has been a
monk, musician, university professor and psychotherapist. He lectures widely on
holistic medicine, spirituality, psychotherapy and ecology, and writes fiction and
music.
