The painting program in the School of Art and Design in Syracuse University's
College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) will present the talk "Feminism and
Art: The Return of the Repressed" with art historian Karen Kurczynski on Tuesday,
Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. in Room 132C of the Dorothea Ilgen Shaffer Art Building.
Kurczynski recently served as a visiting assistant professor in the Massachusetts
College of Art's low-residency M.F.A. program. She is a gallery lecturer and
community programs lecturer at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. She
is also on the international editorial board of the art-critical journal "Billedkunst." She
holds a Ph.D. in 20th-century art from New York University.
