Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in Cazenovia will host a sale of the remaining inventory of
works on paper of the late Rodger Mack (1938-2002), a sculptor and faculty member in
Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA), Sept. 18-28 in the
park's Art Barn.

The work for sale is original, one-of-a-kind acrylics on paper, including several from Mack's
gold leaf series. Mack's estate is holding the sale through the Art Park with the proceeds
benefiting both the park and VPA's Rodger Mack Fund in its sculpture program.

An opening reception will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, from 5-8 p.m. The sale will continue
each day from noon-5 p.m. until Sunday, Sept. 28. Samples of the work for sale can be
viewed on the Art Park's website (http://www.stonequarryhillartpark.org). Purchases may
also be arranged by contacting the park at (315) 655-3196.

An internationally known sculptor and faculty member in VPA's School of Art and Design,
Mack served as the school's first director from 1982-91 and taught sculpture for more than
30 years. He was widely known for his bronze and steel sculptures, now part of permanent
collections worldwide, including those of the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, Spain;
the Filancard and Grand Hotel in Guayaquil, Ecuador; the Everson Museum of Art in
Syracuse; and the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute in Utica, among others. Notable artists
Anthony Caro, Bill King, Kenneth Noland and Helen Frankenthaler all traveled to Syracuse
to work with him.
