A limited allotment of additional $44 tickets for the Sept. 12 Syracuse premiere of
"The Express" will be available for sale to the general public beginning at 10 a.m.
Monday, Sept. 8, through the Carrier Dome Box Office.
"Syracuse University is pleased to offer additional $44 seats to the public. The tickets
are the result of final guest confirmations and the confirmed configuration of screen
placement and technical requirements," says SU Associate Vice President for
Institutional Advancement Charles Merrihew, a principal organizer of the premiere.
The $44 tickets may be purchased in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office or by
phone (888-366-3849 or 315-443-2121). Carrier Dome Box Office hours are 8:30 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m.
These tickets are for balcony seating at the Landmark Theatre screening and do not
come with the other amenities of the $250, $500 and $1,000 premium tickets.
The premiere is at 7:30 p.m. The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with the orange carpet pre-
show on Salina Street in front of the Landmark Theatre featuring music by The
Coasters and video features on the making of the movie.
A 6 p.m. ribbon cutting starts the orange carpet procession and the arrival of cast
members Dennis Quaid, Rob Brown, Charles Dutton, Omar Benson Miller and
Darrin Dewitt Henson; the movie's director, Gary Fleder, and producer, John Davis;
and SU celebrities Jim Brown, Floyd Little, Art Monk, Don McPherson, Dick
MacPherson and Bob Costas; 40 members of the 1959 SU national championship
team; and members of the Davis and Schwartzwalder families.
The public is invited to attend the orange carpet festivities free of charge. Bleacher
seats will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and refreshments and
merchandise will be available for purchase. Fans will have the opportunity to win
various prizes including T-shirts, SU football tickets and even special "spontaneous
tickets" to move inside the theater to watch the premiere.
