The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, in conjunction with the
Burton Blatt Institute and Start-Up NY, will host a guest lecture by Kevin Webb at
the South Side Innovation Center (SSIC) on Wednesday, Sept. 10. The lecture, titled
"Overcoming Challenges of Disability in Self Employment and the Importance of
Support," will begin at noon. The SSIC is located at 2610 S. Salina St. in Syracuse.
Webb is the co-owner of Webb/Taylor Horseback Riding and Boarding, located in
Glasgow, Ky. Webb opened his business with his father and has since participated in
a statewide project to expand self-employment opportunities and support in
Kentucky through an inventive partnership between Vocational Rehabilitation, the
Governor's Council, state and local Small Business Development Centers, the
University of Kentucky and Griffin-Hammis Associates, a consultancy specializing in
developing communities of economic cooperation.
The guest lecture costs $15 for the general public, $5 for SSIC tenants, and is free for
