Alison Schoch, a junior at the
Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, has been awarded the annual
Robert H. Brethen Scholarship through the Brethen Operations Management Institute in the Whitman School. The prestigious award, given to an outstanding junior majoring in operations management or supply chain management, comes with a $10,000 scholarship and recognition from the academic and business communities. Schoch was selected as the winner for her excellence in academic achievement and professional experience in supply chain management.
Schoch, originally from Jackson, Mo., is active around campus and in the Syracuse community. In 2007, she studied abroad in London and held an inventory management internship at Sears Holdings Corp. in Chicago. Schoch is a member of
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and the Franklin Student Supply Chain Management Group, and volunteers for the Association for Student Elderly Connection.
"Alison is a premier student here at Whitman, and her Brethen award is well deserved," says Fred Easton, professor of supply chain management and director of the Brethen Institute. "Her lucid essay on sustainable supply chains, her involvement in Whitman's supply chain management program, and her impressive internship convinced the selection committee that she is a model candidate for this prestigious award."
