Internationally known actor and director Peter Weller G'00 ("RoboCop," "Mighty Aphrodite," "Naked Lunch") will share his love of fine wine and storytelling at Pascale Wine Bar and Restaurant, located at the corner of Fayette and S. Clinton streets in Syracuse, on May 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to benefit the Syracuse International Film and Video Festival. Tickets are $75 and are available by calling Pascale at 471-3040.
Weller, who received a master's degree in art history from SU's College of Arts and Sciences in 2000, will be a juror for the Syracuse Independent Film and Video Festival, which will take place in Syracuse next year. Other confirmed jurors are Eleanor Bergstein ("Dirty Dancing") and video artist Jaime Davidovich.
The film festival is being organized by Point of Contact, an international arts organization at SU, with support from the City of Syracuse, the Syracuse Cultural Resources Council and SU, and directed by Owen Shapiro, head of the Film Program in SU's College of Visual and Performing Arts.
