Campus Hill Public Relations, a student group based in Syracuse University's
S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, received $18,000 from Multiplied Media Corp. to execute a public relations campaign for Poynt, Multiplied Media's multimedia local search service. The student group was chosen through a competition sponsored by The Bohle Co., a corporate and marketing public relations firm representing Multiplied Media.
Available over Microsoft's Windows Live Messenger and AOL's AIM instant messaging networks, Poynt provides users with information about local goods, services and movies. Campus Hill students developed a campaign that will introduce and promote the service among SU students.
The winning proposal was submitted by Newhouse sophomores Anne McCarthy and Bridget Schultz and junior Katelyn Schultz under the direction of Newhouse Professor of Practice Robert Kucharvy. The three will execute the campaign this month with assistance from Newhouse junior Sara Guzzone, director of Campus Hill Public Relations.
"The team was excited to come up with a campaign like this, and even more thrilled to find out we won," says Guzzone.
