Four undergraduate students in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University competed in the annual Logistics Association at The Ohio State University Case Competition April 4 and finished second in their group.
The students competed against host Ohio State, the University of Arkansas, Arkansas State, the University of Maryland, Miami of Ohio, Michigan State and Missouri State. The Whitman team was composed of junior Kemel Aitzhanov, senior Lindsay Barhold, junior Kim Riggs and junior Alma Zhumagulova.
"The students had a fun experience, but it was an intense case competition," says Gary LaPoint, assistant professor of supply chain management at Whitman and faculty advisor to the team. "The teams were given the case early in the morning and had six hours to analyze it and prepare a 20-minute presentation. This was our first experience in the competition and we look forward to returning next year."
