The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University will offer undergraduate students in liberal arts and other non-business majors who are interested in learning more about the business world the opportunity to participate in the second annual Whitman Summer Experience in Business for Undergraduates (SEBU). SEBU is a two-week program designed to expose high-achieving undergraduates to graduate programs and careers in business.
The summer program takes place on the SU campus May 12-24. SEBU will help students discover how they can make a positive impact on society through business management; learn about the functional areas of business and how they integrate to create a successful enterprise; work in teams to convert ideas to business; learn about different aspects of a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program; and learn about career opportunities in business.
"The Whitman School is unique among business schools nationwide in offering this program," says Ravi Shukla, associate dean of M.B.A. and M.S. programs, and director of SEBU. "We bring to campus some of the brightest liberal arts and other non-business undergraduate students who otherwise might not be exposed to a business curriculum, and we instill in them the sense that business intersects with all other disciplines. It's an invaluable experience we hope the students carry with them into their careers and future education."
