Six Whitman undergraduate students competed in the annual Deloitte Audit Case Competition and took home the second-place award. The annual competition brings top accounting students together from across the country to solve complex case studies about realistic financial accounting issues. The six Whitman students are juniors Ellen Firth, Jamie Lamacchia, Ahmed Madry, Rob Peterson, Ellen Robinson and Justin Zucker.
"I am exceptionally proud of our students for their outstanding performance at the competition," says Kofi Appiah Okyere, assistant professor of accounting and faculty consultant to the team. "These cases are incredibly intricate and take exceptional accounting skills to analyze and solve. I know the entire Whitman community is proud of our students for representing our school at the competition. The contribution of Lubin School faculty Randy Elder and Mitch Franklin was also very helpful in getting the student team ready for the presentation."
The competition is part of the Deloitte Foundation's academic initiative that supports education, teaching, and research in the field of accounting and benefits undergraduates, graduates and faculty.
